Capitals Re-Sign Troy Brouwer

ARLINGTON, Va. (CBSDC) — The Washington Capitals announced they’ve re-signed forward Troy Brouwer to a three-year, $11 million deal.

Brouwer, 27, will make $3.6 million in 2013-14, $3.65 million in 2014-15 and $3.75 million in 2015-16.  He is entering the second and final season of a two-year deal and is due $2.35 million.

In in his first season with the Capitals, Brouwer scored 18 goals to go with 15 assists in 82 games.  He played on all three top lines throughout the season and is a versatile player.

Brouwer scored two goals and had two assists during last season’s 14-game playoff run.
