Knitting Rays of Hope

mauve hat for child

Melissa made this adorable child-sized mauve hat.  I am sure that this will create happiness and smiles for a little girl fighting cancer. She designed the hat with a unique brim. At first she was attempting to just keep the brim from rolling by using a 2 knit 2 purl stitch for about 4 rows but when we actually rolled it up we thought that it looked really pretty. For the remainder of the hat, she did the standard e-wrap. I think that we get the most beautiful hats when things just don’t go quite as planned.
